Health & Safety Advisor – Major Civils Project (Hampshire)\n\nEmployment Type: Permanent Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure / HSE\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe’re recruiting a site‑based Health & Safety Advisor to join a major UK civil engineering project in Hampshire. You’ll work alongside an experienced H&S Manager and wider site team, providing hands‑on support, coaching, monitoring and guidance to ensure safe, compliant and efficient site operations.\n\nThis is a long‑term opportunity offering progression, professional development and exposure to large‑scale infrastructure works. You’ll report to the Project Contracts Director, Contracts Manager and Senior HSE Manager, becoming a key part of the project’s HSE function.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Provide day‑to‑day H&S support, coaching and mentoring to site teams\n\n * \n\n Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance checks\n\n * \n\n Support incident management, investigations and reporting\n\n * \n\n Advise on RAMS, safe systems of work, risk assessments and contractor management\n\n * \n\n Deliver briefings, toolbox talks and safety inductions\n\n * \n\n Champion ISO 45001 compliance and continuous improvement\n\n * \n\n Liaise with clients, regulators, H&S specialists and internal stakeholders\n\n * \n\n Contribute to company‑wide HSE initiatives and behavioural safety programmes\n\n * \n\n Assist with documentation, reporting, bid support and accreditation processes\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n * \n\n Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate (NEBOSH Diploma desirable)\n\n * \n\n Tech IOSH / Cert IOSH (or working towards chartered status)\n\n * \n\n Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil engineering contractor preferred\n\n * \n\n Strong communication skills — written, verbal and presentation\n\n * \n\n Confident engaging with workforce, contractors, clients and regulators\n\n * \n\n Self‑motivated, organised, reliable and proactive\n\n * \n\n Good IT literacy (Microsoft Office)\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence\n\n * \n\n Willingness to travel and stay away when required\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary\n\n * \n\n Company pension scheme\n\n * \n\n 25 days holiday + bank holidays\n\n * \n\n Ongoing training, development and professional support\n\n * \n\n Company vehicle or car allowance (role dependent)\n\n * \n\n Long‑term career progression within a growing civil engineering business
